PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve design of an image pickup device. SOLUTION: An electronic image pickup device is provided with a main body frame 2 and a cover member 3. An image pickup lens 8 and a battery storage space 11 are provided in the front of the main body frame. The cover member 3 is provided with an image pickup window 15, and a protection lens 16 is fitted to the image pickup window 15. A turning part 18 is provided in the lower end part of the front of the main body frame 2, and the cover member 3 is freely rotated upward and downward by the turning part 18 and is attached to the main body frame 2. The cover member 3 covers the front and the battery storage part 11 of the main body frame 2, and the protection lens 16 faces and covers the image pickup lens 8. When the cover member 3 is turned with the turning part 18 as the support point, the front of the main body frame 2 is exposed.
