PURPOSE: A method for designing an equalizer for a high speed wireless LAN(Local Area Network) efficiently is provided, which increases data transmission rate by reducing distortion phenomenon due to state change of a wireless channel. CONSTITUTION: The equalizer for a high speed wireless LAN(Local Area Network) satisfies IEEE 802.11a which is a standard high speed wireless LAN of OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) method. In a wireless channel, distortion phenomenon and data transmission rate decrease due to a channel is occurred more often than in a wire channel. According to the method, a delay diffusion value of the channel is obtained through channel estimation of LS(Least Square) method by adopting two step methods, and then an efficient equalizer of LMMESE(Linear Minimum Mean Square Error) method is realized.
