A modular base unit (1) cooperates with various modular car appliances such as air pumps or portable lamps. The base unit comprises a case (10) with a receiving space and a cover plate (21) with a connector (22) thereon. A power supply such as a battery is housed in the receiving space and connected to the metal contact portions (23) of the connector, or a car plug is connected to the portions (23). When the base unit is detachably connected with the car appliance by insertion of the connector into a receiving portion of the appliance, the appliance is electrically connected with the power supply via the base unit and connector contact portions. The use of a single base unit to power various different appliances saves user expenditure and storage space, and production costs. |
