PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet recorder in which print speed is enhanced while ensuring print quality. SOLUTION: The ink jet recorder comprises a head driving waveform generator 8 generating a head driving waveform for varying ink ejection in halftone print mode and a head driving waveform for making liquid drop ejection constant at each ejection frequency in two-level print mode, a memory 2 for storing gray scale data, a memory 6 for storing print record data, a circuit 7 for switching the outputs from the memories 2 and 4, a serial/parallel conversion circuit 4 for converting gray scale data or print record data outputted through the switching circuit 7 into serial data, and a head driver 3 for selecting a head driving waveform from the head driving waveform generator 8 based on serial data converted by the serial/parallel conversion circuit 4 and delivering it to a head 5. |
