PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection member for sheet type heat developable photosensitive material capable of preventing scratch and the fluctuation of sensitivity caused at the bottom part of the sheet type heat developable photosensitive material stacked in a state where it is protected by the protection member and stacked up, and to provide a package for sheet type heat developable photosensitive material using the protection member. SOLUTION: This protection member for the sheet type heat developable photosensitive material made of thermoplastic resin has such characteristics that 0.5 to 3.0 mg/m<2> surfactant is applied on a side where the sheet type heat developable photosensitive material is stacked up.
