PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To pull a friction pad back from a side of a disk rotor reliably without causing inclination at brake release. SOLUTION: A pad hold spring 15 with pawls 15b capable of engagement with an inner circumferential wall 5b of a piston 5 is mounted on a backplate 12b of the friction pad 12. The pad hold spring 15 has a base portion 15a fixed to the backplate 12b, and three pawls 15b radially extended from the base portion 15a at constant intervals. A tip side of the pawls 15b is bent into a dogleg as an engaging portion 15e, and an outer crest surface 15f is curved into an arc in a pawl width direction. The inner circumferential wall 5b of the piston 5 is provided with an engaging groove 5c, in which the engaging portions 15e are locked. The base portion 15a of the pad hold spring 15 is drilled with a mounting hole 15c of an equilateral triangle form, in which corners 15d are oriented toward the tips of the pawls 15b, and is crimped down on a spring mounting portion 12d of an equilateral triangle section on the backplate 12b.
