PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric space heater having a humidifying function that removes bacilli floating in the air of a room by separating microorganisms from a humidifying filter by sufficiently exhibiting its ability even when the function is operated during the heating operation of the space heater. SOLUTION: This electric space heater is provided with a humidifier 5 having a water storage tank 3 for storing water and the humidifying filter 4 which performs humidification by vaporizing the water stored in the tank 3 and heating equipment 8 having a positive temperature coefficient ceramic heater 6 and a blower 7 which sends air to the heater 6. When the humidifier 5 is operated, the heater 6 and blower 7 are driven so as to form two passages of a first passage 21 along which the air from the blower 7 passes through the filter 4 and a second passage 22 along which the air does not pass through the filter 4. Consequently, the number of components used in this electric space heater can be reduced and the space heater can be made compact in size. In addition, the drop in air temperature caused by humidification can be suppressed. |
