PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding method for an engaging projecting part of a tile which enables sure and easy molding of the engaging projecting part on the occasion of molding the tile wherein the projecting part engaging with an insertion supporting part of another tile positioned above or below off thereto in tiling is formed. SOLUTION: The molding method, which is adopted on the occasion of molding a tile main body 5 by filling clay 4 in a tile molding form 3 at molding the tile 1, comprises a process wherein a substantially rectangular- parallelopipedon-shaped projection 8 is formed on the front lateral side 7 of the back part 6 of the tile main body 5, a process wherein a portion on the insertion holding part 12 side of the projection 8 is cut off from the head part 9 side of the tile main body 5 by press-cutting so that the projection 8 is formed to have a substantially U-shaped section, and a process wherein pieces 10 of the cut-off clay are sucked.
