PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weeding method by which weeding prevention is effectively carried out with a smaller amount of a herbicide. SOLUTION: This weeding method comprises combining application of a herbicide composed of one or more kinds of compounds as active ingredients selected from oxyfluorfen, butafenacil, azafendin, flumioxazin, norflurazon, propyzamide, isoxaben, diuron, terbuthylazine, terbumeton and flazasulfuron with covering the surface of soil with a vegetative solid material.
