PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide light-weight wainscot or a panel allowing easy handling and installation, requiring no large quantity of material required for a conventional structural body, and comparatively lowering costs for conveyance and installation. SOLUTION: This wainscot or the panel for boarding a vertical surface is constructed of a plurality of fillets or boards 1 mounted one another in the longitudinal direction. The fillets or the boards are positioned to a support structural body holding the fillets or the boards with a side part facing the front face. Each of the fillets or the boards is sawed so that an angle between its flat side part and a growth ring on the surface of the flat side part becomes 45-90 degrees, desirably, 60-90 degrees. The fillets or the boards are installed vertically and held in a predetermined position by means of a mounting means 4 only in the end parts 1c and 1d of the panel fillets or the panel boards.
