PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device capable of preventing pattern deviation from occurring on a transparent conducting film formed on a substrate even though bending occurs in a mask used when the transparent conducing film is formed. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device provided with a first substrate, a second substrate and liquid crystal injected and sealed between the first and second substrates while at least one between the first and second substrates has a transparent conducting film, has a conducting film forming process for arranging a mask on the substrates and forming a transparent conducting film in an area located at an opening part of the mask of at least one of the first and second substrates, and the mask has a projecting part at least three places of a peripheral part.
