PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smooth the flow of a refrigerant in an evaporator for a drum type ice making machine. SOLUTION: In the ice making machine, ice making water is supplied to the inner peripheral surface of an inner drum of inner and outer drums cooled by the refrigerant to produce ice, while the produced ice is separated by a separating edge driven so as to be turned along the inner peripheral surface of the inner drum. The inner and outer drums are provided with a flange at the upper or the lower end part thereof while the flange is provided with the suction port or the discharging port of the refrigerant, whereby the refrigerant flows smoothly and the ice is produced efficiently.
