PURPOSE: A method for preservative treatment of a dry flower by coating a polymer which has high moisture and oxygen barrier property and enhances mechanical strength on the surface of the dry flower is provided to prevent embrittlement and decay as well as discoloration or bleaching by shielding oxygen and UV light in air. CONSTITUTION: A dry flower is treated with oxygen or an air plasma as a non-polymerizable gas, followed by a polymerizable gas plasma selected from hydrocarbon, organic silicon, hydrogen fluoride or a mixture thereof. Thereafter, a p-xylylene dimer, a chloro-p-xylylene dimer, a dichloro-p-xylylene dimer which are represented by the formulae(1, 2 and 3) or a mixture is heated at 100 to 170 deg.C under low pressure to sublimate in a pipe and thermally cracked in a thermal cracking pipe at 600 to 750 deg.C to produce radicals. And the pretreated dry flower is steeped in radicals in a steeping chamber. |
