PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorant which is dispersed with zinc carbonate particulate in a form stable in water and is effective for deodorization of human body odors. SOLUTION: This deodorant is prepared by dispersing the zinc carbonate particulates and a water-soluble carboxyl group-containing polymer into the water. The deodorant is made by feeding the prescribed amounts of the zinc carbonate, the carboxyl group-containing polymer and the water into a wet process pulverizing machine and subjecting these materials to wet process atomization. The fibers or fiber products treated by this deodorant are provided. A spray container packed with the deodorant described above is provided. The deodorant is effective for eliminating the human body odors, tobacco smell, pet odors, the excretion odors of the pets, garbage odors, kitchen odors, toilet odors, etc.
