PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating apparatus capable of performing stable coating without generating a flaw in a coating film even if a web is allowed to run at a high speed, and a coating method using the same. SOLUTION: The coating apparatus is equipped with a forward rotary bar rotated around its axial line in the same direction as the running direction of a continuously running strip-like web while being in contact with the web, a liquid supply flow channel for supplying a coating solution to the gap between the web and the upstream side of the forward rotary bar at the coating of the web with the coating solution and an amount control means arranged on the downstream side of the forward rotary bar with respect to the running direction of the web and controlling the amount of the coating solution applied to the web by the forward rotary bar so as to obtain a predetermined coating thickness. The coating method is also disclosed. |
