PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermotherapy apparatus with which a fixed stable therapeutic effect can be provided regardless of the experience of doctor or individual difference of patient. SOLUTION: In the case of thermotherapy to a part to be treated by a microwave antenna 20, when the part is irradiated with laser beam emitted from an emission part 21a of an optical fiber 21 for laser beam irradiation, light scattered at the part where thermotherapy is carried out of the part to be treated is indirectly received by a light receiving part 22a of an optical fiber 22 for laser beam detection and on the basis of the intensity of the scattered light of the laser beam received by this light receiving part 22a, the degree of coagulation as a denatured state in the thermotherapeutic part of the target part is discriminated by a control part 36. In accordance with that degree, the irradiation of energy by the microwave antenna 20 is stopped. |
