PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage treatment apparatus which can decrease the treatment time in treating garbage by drying it by the irradiation with electromagnetic waves. SOLUTION: This garbage treatment apparatus 1 dries garbage contained in a treatment vessel 2 made of a material mainly comprising a metal. The drying is carried out by the irradiation with electromagnetic waves. A heating means 9 for heating the treatment vessel 2 by induction heating is attached to the outside of the treatment vessel 2.
