PURPOSE: An upgrading system and method of refrigerator through network are provided to upgrade program of the refrigerator using Internet. CONSTITUTION: A system includes a refrigerator(30); and a server(20). The refrigerator includes a first memory; a second memory; a communicating part; and an upgrading control part. The first memory stores a driving program. The second memory stores information on the refrigerator such as ID and driving environment. The upgrading control part transmits information on the refrigerator through the communicating part and upgrades the driving program stored in the first memory based on received program. The server includes a program database; and a server control part. The program database stores driving program for upgrading. The server control part transmits the driving program to the communicating part of the refrigerator based on the information on the refrigerator transmitted by the communicating part of the refrigerator.
