PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device having high light utilization efficiency and small spherical aberration. SOLUTION: In the optical pickup device for an optical apparatus commonly used for different types of optical recording mediums; the device is equipped with a light source; an objective lens which guide the light emitted from the light source to one of the optical recording mediums, which has a plurality of lens parts possessing different optical characteristics, and which, through one of the lens parts, focuses the light on the optical recording medium regardless of the types; a photodetector for detecting the light reflected from the optical recording medium; and a light splitter which, receiving the light emitted from the light source, guides the light to the objective lens and which, receiving the light reflected from the optical recording medium, guides the light to the photodetector. |
