PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the difficulty in optimizing optical characteristics while maintaining optimum recording characteristics because there is heretofore a need for equally dividing signals with layers existing in a plurality. SOLUTION: A multilayered disk having (n) layers of recording layers is so designed as to satisfied an equation (4) when the transmittance Ti ((i) is an integer from 1 to n-1) of the first layer when viewed from a light incident side is condensed to the recording layer of the j-th layer ((j) is an integer of (2) to (n)) in order to improving the reproducing and/or recording characteristics in the respective layers. As a result, the recording and reproducing characteristics of the multilayered medium of the optical disk, more particularly the multilayered medium of a rewriting type can be improved.
