PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode material of a lithium secondary battery having excellent service life performance, large electric energy density, capable of increasing capacity and having excellent conductivity and electrode reinforcement. SOLUTION: This electrode material of a lithium secondary battery is characterized in that a carbon fiber prepared by a vapor phase deposition method with multiple carbon network layers each forming a bottomless cup shape stacked and with the end faces of the carbon network layers exposed.
