PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the precision of internal combustion engine control using the state of a heating medium such as cooling water as a parameter, in an internal combustion engine with a heat accumulator. SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine is provided with an engine operating state controlling means for controlling an operating state of the internal combustion engine according to the temperature of the internal combustion engine, and the heat accumulator for supplying an insulated heating medium stored in a heat-insulated state to the internal combustion engine to warm up the internal combustion engine. While the heat accumulator supplies the insulated heating medium to the internal combustion engine, the temperature of the internal combustion engine is estimated based on a relative relation between the heating medium in the internal combustion engine and the heating medium in the heat accumulator just before the start of supply of the insulated heating medium, and the internal combustion engine is controlled according to the estimated temperature.
