PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To flatten in-plane luminance distribution by dissolving unevenness of the in-plane luminance distribution of a liquid crystal display panel due to uneven luminance of a linear light source in a tube axis direction. SOLUTION: Two linear light sources CFL1, CFL2 have one-dimensional luminance distribution in which the luminance is gradually decreased as nearer approaching the one end and as further receding from the other end. The respective one ends of the two linear light sources CFL1, CFL2 are placed on a diagonal line of principal surfaces of a light guide plate GLB. Two-dimensional density distribution of light reflection patterns RD existing on one out of the two principal surfaces of the light guide plate GLB is successively varied corresponding to the one-dimensional luminance distribution toward the direction of the diagonal line of the linear light sources CFL1, CFL2. |
