PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filament-reinforced thermoplastic resin pellet having good dispersibility of filaments in which the filaments impregnated with the thermoplastic resin are molded as if the filaments are covered with the thermoplastic resin so as not to protrude from the pellet side, a method for producing the pellet by which the pellet can stably be produced in spite of a high speed, and an apparatus for producing the pellet. SOLUTION: The apparatus is equipped with a molding nozzle 17 for shaping a glass filament bundle 1 impregnated with the thermoplastic molten resin at the end on the downstream side, i.e., the outlet side in an impregnating tank 5 for the molten resin and a squeezing nozzle 19 for previously squeezing the resin-impregnated glass filament bundle 1 near the upstream side of the molding nozzle 17. Although a two-stage squeezing molding method for squeezing with the squeezing nozzle 19 just before the shaping with the molding nozzle 17 is adopted, the resin-impregnated glass filament bundle 1 is squeezed and regulated so as to provide a higher filament content than the glass filament content of the pellet P to be finally obtained by 10 wt.% with the squeezing nozzle 19. Thereby, the solidification shrinkage percentage is controlled. |
