Door hinge with a snib for motor vehicles comprises a pillar bracket (2) and a door bracket (1) hinged together via a hinge pin (3). The snib has a locking profile consisting of recesses (22) and protrusions on one of the two brackets which engages with a locking element on the other bracket under pressure, especially spring pressure. When the door is pivoted the locking element moves along the locking profile and engages in one of the recesses of the locking profile to lock the door on opening or closing. The locking element consists of a rotor (24) having at least two wings (25) which form roller pairs with adjacent recesses when the rotor is rolled along the locking profile. The door is locked in pre-set positions when two wings simultaneously engage in adjacent recesses.
