A connector (1) allowing the assured engagement of a holder with a female housing to be detected easily, comprising the holder (2) and the female housing (3), the holder (2) supporting the end part (4a) of an FPC (4) further comprising a pair of first walls (7) and the female housing (3) further comprising a pair of second walls (22), wherein a lock hole is formed in the inner surface of one first wall (7a) and the width (L) of the first wall (7a) is equal to the width (La) of the FPC (4) and an engagement projection (25) and a recess (26) are formed in the outer surface (27) of one second wall (22a) and the engagement projection (25) is projected from the outer surface (27) and the recess (26) is recessed from the outer surface (27), whereby the engagement projection (25) is engaged with the lock hole (13) to engage the female housing (3) with the holder (2).
