<p>A speech aid device (20) having a housing (22) with two ends (24 and 26). A sounding head (28) secured to one end of housing a solenoid (64) is disposed in the housing. A post (72) affixed to the solenoid (64) has an end operatively associated with the sounding head (28). The post (72) has an annular groove therein. A diaphragm (68) having a periphery supported by and connected to the housing (22) is captured in the groove. The diaphragm (68) is constructed from an elastomer such as silicone (116) and has a plurality of annular ridges.</p> |
