FIELD: processes of continuous metal casting, particularly steel casting. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes insert in the form of strap being rigid assembly of joined together and arranged in line one after another connection members held in compressed state by means of holding attachment of said assembly. Apparatus is provided with attachments for placing and mounting strap onto mold; said attachments are in the form of set of spring pusher joined with stop mounted on mold. Strap rests upon stop due to spring pushers acting upon it. Mold with such head portion is used for casting articles with large area of cross section.
