Composition for oral ingestion comprises (per daily portion): L-carnitine (1-3 g) and omega-3 fatty acids (1-3 g) (eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid). ACTIVITY : Anabolic. A group of cyclists was given a combination of L-carnitine and omega-3 fatty acids instead of their normal L-carnitine. This increased their endurance, extended their aerobic phase and shortened their regeneration phase. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
