REINFORCING COMPOSITE YARN AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREFOR

A composite yarn, having a high reinforcing effect on a matrix to be reinforced, is a paralleled composite yarn comprising at least one practically non−twisted multi−filament yarn having a tensile strength of at least 13 cN/dtex and an initial modulus of at least 300 cN/dtex, and at least one practically non−twisted short fiber yarn containing at least 15 mass% respectively of a fraction (1) having a fiber length at least 1.5 times the average fiber length and a fraction (2) having a fiber length up to 0.5 times, wherein part of short fibers in the short fiber yarn are wound on the surface of the paralleled composite yarn to bind the multi−filament yarn and the short fiber yarn together while kept practically non−twisted.
