A thermal power element 114 actuates a valve 24, controlling heating fluid to a heatexchanger over which air flows, by acting at 92 on a lever 58 having a fulcrum 72 adjustable by a cam 78, the lever having a further fulcrum 94 on which it rests on the casing 10 when the thermal element is cold and removed from pivot 92 and with cam 78 operated fully clockwise to close valve 24, whereby loading of lever spring 100 is removed from the element 114. Spring 100 loads an override lever 96 pivoted on lever 58 to connect valve stem 44 to adjustable lever stop 70 and also to load fulcrum roller 76 to embrace the edge of cam 78. When cold, the cam rotates lever 58 about lower pivot 94 to open valve 24 and at a set compartment temperature; thermal element 114 engages pivot 92 to lift the lever off pivot 94 and turn it about fulcrum 72 to close the valve. |
