PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To grind a surface to be ground of a glass article while feeding a grinding slurry as adequately as possible by improving the configuration of a grinding pad of a grinder. SOLUTION: A first grinding pad 4a is disposed in a center area on a supporting plate 2, and a second grinding pad 4b with the holding property of the grinding slurry lower than that of the first grinding pad 4a is disposed on an outer circumferential area surrounding the center area. The water absorption property of the second grinding pad 4b is set to be lower than that of the first grinding pad 4a. More specifically, the first grinding pad 4a is formed of a fibrous elastic pad, preferably, a felt-like formed body of an organic fiber, and the second grinding pad 4b is formed of a non-fibrous elastic pad, preferably, a formed body of an elastic resin or a rubber. |
