Carboxylic acid derivatives represented by the following general formula (I) and nontoxic salts thereof: (I) wherein R1 represents COOH, COOR6, etc.; A represents alkylene, etc.; R2 represents alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, etc.; B represents a carbon ring or a heterocycle; R4 represents alkyl, cycloalkyl, etc.; and R5 represents a carbon ring or a heterocycle. The compounds represented by the general formula (I) bind to PGE2 receptors, in particular , subtypes EP3 and/or EP4 and exert an antagonism, which makes them useful in preventing and/or treating diseases such as pain, allergy, Alzheimer and cancer.
