PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an artificial culture medium which exhibits plant growing ability equal to or higher than that of natural soil or the existing artificial culture medium, is prepared by using only waste, consequently not only can inexpensively and simply be produced but also can contribute to construction of circulatory recycling society. SOLUTION: This artificial culture medium comprises a mixture of a ground material of fired ceramic product, preferably chamotte (component A) and a ground material of vegetable waste (component B) in which the component A and/or the component B is impregnated with an inorganic nutrient.
