METHOD FOR TREATING WASTEWATER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively treat wastewater containing heavy metals such as copper and organic acids. SOLUTION: Raw water containing copper and organic acids is introduced into an inorganic coagulant addition tank 10, where a calcium compound together with an iron coagulant is added thereto. In a polymer coagulant addition tank 12, a polymer coagulant is added to form flocks. The flocks are precipitated and separated in a precipitation tank 14. The wastewater thus freed of copper is treated in a biological treatment tank 16 to obtain clean treated water free from organic acids.
