PURPOSE: A method for preventing cold wind at an air conditioner used for both cooling and heating is provided to prevent an indoor unit fan from operating in state that an electric heater is not completely heated. CONSTITUTION: A method for preventing cold wind at an air conditioner used for both cooling and heating includes the steps of turning on a heating operation through an electric heater(S10), starting to operate a timer(S20), heating the electric heater(S30), measuring the temperature of air vented from a vent port of an indoor unit and the heating time of the electric heater(S40), proceeding the heating of the electric heater by the operation of an indoor unit fan if the temperature of the air is over 30 deg.C or the heating time of the electric heater exceeds 30 sec.(S50), and heating the electric heater while stopping the indoor unit fan if the temperature of the air is less than 30 deg.C and the heating time of the electric heater is under 30 sec.(S60).
