PURPOSE: A paper sensor of an image forming apparatus is provided to simplify the configuration of the paper sensor and improve response characteristic of the paper sensor. CONSTITUTION: A paper sensor of an image forming apparatus includes a power supply, a paper feeding roller(10), a wire(21), connector(22), and a resistor(R). The outer surface is made of a conductive material. One end of a wire(21) intermittently comes into contact with the outer surface of the paper feeding roller and the other end is electrically connected to the power supply. The connector is fixed to a printed circuit board(30) placed above the paper feeding roller and connected to the other end of the wire. The resistor is interposed between the connector and the power supply. It is detected whether print paper is transferred or not according as voltage detected between the resistor and the connector is high or low according to attachment or separation of one end of the wire and the outer surface of the paper feeding roller with each other.
