PURPOSE: A shock absorber is provided to unify the production of the shock absorber, to reduce the production cost of the shock absorber and to easily manage the products by installing a damping force controller. CONSTITUTION: An elastic member(11) is elastically supported inside an installing groove(4b). The installing groove is penetrated through an oil hole(4a) from the side of a piston(4). Operating oil(12) is filled inside a connecting hole(2a) inside an inner container(2) to be connected with the installing groove. An oil hole opening member(13) is reciprocated lengthwise the installing groove through the operating oil and the elastic member by installing in the elastic member. A damping force controller(14) generates or removes hydraulic pressure to the connecting groove for the reciprocated operation of the oil hole opening member. Thereby, the adjusting stability and the riding comfort of passengers are improved and the production line of a shock absorber is unified.
