LIGHT EMITTING DEVICE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device in which irregularities in a color and irregularities in a quantity of light can be reduced in each light emitting part or in each product by a method wherein a component containing a wavelength conversion substance or a light absorber is manufactured by a simplified process so as to mass-produce the light emitting device and to reduce its production costs and the quality of the light emitting device is made uniform. SOLUTION: A light emitting element 3 is installed inside a recess 2 on a mounting substrate 1. A resin 4 contains at least either the wavelength conversion substance which is excited by emitted light by the light emitting element 3 and emits light at a wavelength different from that of excitation light and the light absorber which absorbs a part of emitted light by the light emitting element 3 or by the wavelength conversion substance. The resin 4 is provided at the outside of the recess 2 or at the inside of the recess.
