PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the wasteful use of energy for high efficiency of a power converter by controlling a period from an on-signal output to an auxiliary semiconductor switching device to an on-signal output to a main semiconductor switching device in response to a change of a load current of the power converter. SOLUTION: In this control method for power converter, the auxiliary semiconductor switching device is controlled by taking a fifth pulse pattern obtained by the logical product operation of a second pulse pattern formed out of a second carrier wave, of which phase is delayed from a first carrier wave for pulse width modulation of the main semiconductor switching device for a period in proportion to an output current, and a fourth pulse pattern in reverse phase with a third pulse pattern formed out of a third carrier wave of which phase is advanced from the first carrier wave for a period in proportion to the output current; and a fifty-one pulse pattern obtained by the logical product operation of a twenty-one pulse pattern in reverse phase with the second pulse pattern and the third pulse pattern on the opposite arm as a new pulse pattern, respectively. A proportionality constant in calculating a period in proportion to the output current of the power converter is a value obtained by dividing the inductance of a resonant reactor by the applied voltage of the resonant reactor. |
