ORGANIC ELECTROLUMINESCENT DISPLAY PANEL AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure that a reverse-tapered barrier rib for securing insulation between second electrodes formed on an organic EL layer or that between second and first electrodes is formed irrespective of an arrangement on a substrate. SOLUTION: This organic EL display panel 1 has a transparent overcoat layer 3 formed on the surface of a color filter 2 and has first electrodes 4 formed in the shape of parallel stripes thereon. Insulating barrier ribs 5 are formed on the overcoat layer 3 in the shape of parallel stripes perpendicular to the first electrodes 4. The organic EL layer 7 is formed over the first electrodes 4. The second electrodes 8 are formed on the organic EL layer 7. The barrier rib 5 has a reverse-tapered projecting strip 5a made from photoresist. Reflecting parts 9 made of metallic films extending parallel to the projecting strips 5a are formed on the portions of the color filter 2 corresponding to the projecting strips 5a.
