METHOD OF EDITING DIGITAL AUDIOVISUAL INFORMATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of editing audiovisual information which is rapidly and easily capable of executing edition processing, such as deletion and insertion of DVD video streams. SOLUTION: This method of editing the digital audiovisual information forms fresh the audiovisual data streams by deleting the desired segments of the audiovisual data streams multiplexed by a DVD video format. Among the data streams of the DVD video format, the beginning points and end points of the deleted segments are specified and the data stream before the point just before the beginning point of the deleted segments is determined as a first data file. The data stream after the point just after the end point of the deleted segments is determined as a second data file. The data steams before the edition are then divided and the end point of the first data file and the beginning point of the second data file are coupled. The address data of the data streams of the second data file is rewritten in such a manner that the address data of the first data file and the address data of the second data file are matched.
