PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relay apparatus which limits the influence of a failure, if happened on a superordinate line or in the apparatus on a system to a minimum enough to continue communication. SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises a subordinate line interface 101 for receiving signals from subordinate stations, a radio line interface 103 for radio communication with terminal stations located within a communicable area, and a superordinate line interface 109 for transmitting signals to superordinate stations. The subordinate/radio line interface 101, 103 has a prefetch priority selector 111a for selecting one of a plurality of up-signals looped back in the event of a failure of the superordinate line or the superordinate line interface 109, and this interface 109 has a prefetch priority selector 111b for selecting one of a plurality of signals sent from the subordinate/radio line interface 101, 103, a line failure detector 113 for detecting a failure of the superordinate line and a signal loop back unit 115 for looping back an up-signal in the event of a superordinate line failure. |
