PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode ray tube with improved velocity modulation effect and good contrast. SOLUTION: A front side anode electrode and a convergence electrode are divided into a plurality of parts respectively. The front side anode electrodes divided into a plurality of parts are arranged with prescribed gaps in the direction of tube axis and electrically connected with each other. The convergence electrode divided into a plurality of parts are arranged with prescribed gaps in the direction of tube axis and electrically connected with each other. The velocity modulation effect is increased by the gaps formed in the front side anode electrode and the convergence electrode.
