摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately mold the end surface of a POF(plastic optical fiber) for transmitting an optical signal by using a forming mold. SOLUTION: A first guide adapter 5 and a second guide adapter 4 are fitted into a guide hole 1a so that respective flange parts abut on the end surfaces 1b and 1c of a coaxial guide 1. The high frequency alternate current is passed through a coil 6 for generating a magnetic field installed at the outer peripheral part of the forming mold 2, and the forming mold 2 of a ferromagnetic body is heated by electromagnetic induction. The temperature of the terminal surface of the thermoplastic POF 9 is raised and softened so as to mold a convex spherical surface following the recessed curved surface of a mold shape part 2a. A connector plug 3 and the forming mold 2 each of which has a cylindrical shape are fitted into each center hole of the first and second guide adapters 5. The first and second guide adapters 5 and 4 fitted into the guide hole 1a of the coaxial guide 1 are formed so that the POF 9 is on the straight line with the axis line (central axis) 1f of the recessed curved surface of mold shape part 2a.
