PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the quality of a print image in a print where one main scanning line is recorded by a plurality of times of main scanning. SOLUTION: At step S2, test patches are printed on a print sheet in different dot recording modes. Each dot recording mode employs the same sub-scanning method between main scanning operations but has a different order for recording the dots on each main scanning line. At step S4, a user selects a test patch appearing most uniform among test patches printed in respective dot recording modes. At step S6, the user inputs a number affixed to the selected test patch to a computer through the user interface screen thereof. Since the dot recording mode is selected by actually performing print in respective dot recording modes, a high quality print can be ensured. |
