PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation method for an air conditioner capable of effective application of energy. SOLUTION: For every VAV 2a, 2b, and 2c to which temperature adjusting air is supplied from AHU 1, an operation schedule is prepared in response to the date of the use of regions 3a, 3b, and 3c where they are installed, on the basis of which schedule the VAV 2a, 2b, and 2c are started or interrupted. In response to an air volume ratio required thereby, AHU 1 is operated to ensure temperature adjustment only for the regions 3a, 3b to be used. Further, upon prior operation, it is judged whether or not the state where the air volume ratio required by the VAV 2a, 2b, and 2c for supplying the temperature adjusting air to the respective regions 3a, 3b, and 3c is less than a set value continues for a predetermined time. On the basis of the result of the judgement the prior operation of the VAV 2a, 2b, and 2c are finished.
