摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high light emission efficiency in an electrooptic device such as a liquid crystal display device with a back light. SOLUTION: Blue light beams emitted by blue LEDs 402, 404, and 406 are supplied to a liquid crystal optical modulation part 120 through a back light part 400 and modulated pixel by pixel. On an observation surface of the liquid crystal optical modulation part 120, a phosphor layer 410 is provided. The phosphor layer 410 is provided with a red phosphor film opposite a pixel which makes a red display in the liquid crystal optical modulation part 120, a green phosphor film opposite a pixel which makes a green display, and a gap part for a pixel which makes a blue display. As for blue light, modulated hight is emitted as it is, and red light and green light are radiated from the corresponding phosphor films.
