PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practically useful three-dimensional photonic crystal, a method for manufacturing the crystal and to provide a probe. SOLUTION: The three-dimensional photonic crystal has a plurality of two-dimensional photonic crystal plates, provided with through holes and two-dimensional photonic crystals of different kinds, and a plurality of positioning members located at the through holes of the two-dimensional photonic crystal plates, the adjacent two-dimensional photonic crystal plates among the two-dimensional photonic crystal plates are positioned by locating the positioning members to the through hole, thus the two-dimensional photonic crystal plates are piled so that a cyclic structure corresponding to the wavelength of light is provided.
