PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermally developable photosensitive material manufactured by applying a water dispersion type liquid, having high sensitivity, giving sufficient image density and suppressing a change of silver tone with age after development. SOLUTION: The thermally developable photosensitive material has at least one photosensitive layer containing photosensitive silver halide, a non- photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducer and a binder on at least one face of a support. The photosensitive layer is formed by applying and drying a coating liquid containing fine polymer particles as the principal component of the binder in the state of a water dispersion and the fine polymer particles comprise a copolymer obtained by copolymerizing a monomer selected from the group of dissociable group-containing monomers in the content range of 4-30 mass%. Preferably the fine polymer particles are SBR (butadiene-styrene rubber) latex and preferably a development accelerator is further contained in the photosensitive layer.
